The Founder
Different Robot was founded by Alex — a system architect with deep experience in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and agentic AI.
But the reason it exists is simpler than any resume. Alex is a father of two, and he wanted an AI assistant he'd actually trust with his own family — one that respects their privacy, adapts to their ages, and answers to no one but them. Nothing on the market met that bar. So he built it.
Different Robot is the workshop where that work happens. Every product is planned, evaluated, secured, and used internally before it reaches anyone else. We don't ship demos — we ship tools we rely on at our own kitchen table.

The Mission
Start with the user. The rest will follow.
Everything we build begins with a question: how should this feel to the person using it? Not what's technically impressive. Not what's marketable. How do we delight rather than frustrate?
That lens is how we find the people the giants forget. The students who need a patient tutor. The thinkers with NPF diagnoses who need a calm, non-judgmental partner. The parents who want AI that has their family's back. They deserve technology that starts with them, not with a business model.

We are 100% independent. This allows us to prioritize your privacy over our growth metrics, to ship when it's ready instead of when the quarter demands it, and to say no to anything that doesn't serve the people using our products.

The large AI labs produce the raw ingredients — the models. We curate the best from every lab and craft the experience. That's the difference between a plantation and a specialty coffee shop.

We build and run at the forefront of agentic AI — not by chasing hype, but through deep understanding. Every system is planned, threat-modeled, and evaluated before it ships. Security and privacy aren't afterthoughts bolted on at the end; they're the first lines of architecture.
The same discipline shapes what you see. Our design language, "Resonant Stark," is clean and functional with a human soul — warm chalk backgrounds, smooth typography, subtle organic textures. Technology should feel like a well-crafted tool made by human hands. The care you see on the surface reflects the engineering underneath.
